BROOMPARK Loves are still buzzing after scooping promotion and a cup double in the Bowman Anderson Accountants Spennymoor Sunday League.
As well as earning the right to play in the First Division next season, the Loves' glorious year included two trophy successes.
Their first victory came when they overcame Binchester Social Club 2-0 in the Second Division Cup Final at Spennymoor United's Brewery Field. Brent Naylor and Gavin Wood grabbed the two goals.
The Ian Barrass-managed side were soon enjoying more cup joy when they beat Postchaise 3-1 on penalties in the B&A Trophy final.
The tie was 2-2 after extra time with Paul Walton scoring for Postchaise and Steven Hancock and Ben Roffe netting for the Loves.
And the champions' secretary Keith Flowers was delighted with their second cup, he said: "They wanted it just as much as we did and that showed during the game. But, after already winning the Second Division Cup, it was great to win another trophy."
The Loves are now looking forward to playing in the League's top division after clinching the runners-up spot behind Spennymoor Thorns.
Their success over the campaign was understandably rewarded with a number of individual honours.
Gavin Wood claimed the top goalscorer award at the club with 46 goals.
Mark Frost and Vince Chatterton were named Player of the Year, while Michael Howard picked up the Most Improved Player.
The Most Consistent Player of the Year was won by Terry Nelson and David Jones.
