A SHOPPING centre car park has become the first in Middlesbrough to receive a security award.
The Hill Street Shopping Centre has been presented with the award by the national Secured Car Park Scheme.
To achieve the award, the centre had to meet criteria ranging from pedestrian access to lighting and was praised for its overall safety and security measures.
Peter Drabble, acting centre manager, said: "I am delighted with the award. It is a further confirmation of our strong commitment to our customers, ensuring their peace of mind when shopping with us."
