POLICE are hunting two robbers who stabbed a young man as he walked home after a night out in Stockton.

The 18-year-old and two friends were at the junction of Yarm Lane and Skinner Street when they were approached by two youths demanding money.

When they refused, one of the youths pulled out a knife, grabbed the teenager and stabbed him in the stomach.

The attackers then fled after stealing a silver necklace.

The victim was taken to the University Hospital of North Tees but has since been released.

Both assailants were described as thin, about 19, wearing dark tracksuit bottoms and of scruffy appearance. One was about 6ft 2in and wearing a shirt and the other was about 5ft 8in and wearing a cream jacket.
