The following planning applications will be considered when Wear Valley District Council's development control committee meets in the council chamber, at Crook Civic Centre, at 6pm tonight:
Shield restoration: Removal and restoration of a stone heraldic shield and replacement with a replica at Auckland Castle, Bishop Auckland, on behalf of the Church Commissioners for England.
Parking area: Planning officers are recommending that an application by Brotherlee Caravan Park, Westgate, to create a parking area on the site, should be refused because it would encroach into open countryside.
New access: A new access to the front of 53 Cockton Hill Road, Bishop Auckland.
Directional sign: Erection of a directional sign for Heatherview Caravan Park, at land adjacent to the A689 at Stanhope.
Park extension: Extension of Bradley Mill Caravan Park, at Bradley Burn Farm, Wolsingham.
Outdoor arena: Councillors are being advised by planning officers to refuse plans for a home and outdoor arena at Bluebell Stables, Quarry Burn Lane, Hunwick.
Conservatory: A lean-to conservatory at 35 Albert Street, Crook.
Change of use: An application by Gardiners to change the use its depot at the Batts, Frosterley, from a vehicle depot to agricultural repairs, fabrications and welding repairs, and retention of a portable building.
Homes scheme: Plans to build three homes on land to the rear of the Deerness Estate, Tow Law, have been recommended for refusal by planning officers.
Refurbishment: Extension and refurbishment of a home at Hilltop House, Hillend, Frosterley.
