A MAN has been arrested by police in connection with the rape of an 18-year-old prostitute on Teesside.
The woman was attacked by a man claiming to be a police officer in Middlesbrough in the early hours of Wednesday, July 24.
A 38-year-old man from the Durham area was arrested on Monday afternoon and is being questioned by police. A Cleveland Police spokeswoman said the man was not a police officer.
Anyone with information about the attack, which happened near the Charlie Brown garage, just off Newport Road, at about 2.30am, is asked to call police on (01642) 303126.
