CELEBRITY gardener Simon Cross was on hand to give out the prizes to the winners of a Teesside flower contest yesterday.
The presenter of ITV's The Whole Nine Yards joined Middlesbrough councillor Ron Lowes to hand out the prizes for the Gresham in Bloom competition.
Winners included Olga Lowe, of Finsbury Street, Middlesbrough, in the back garden competition, and Jean Bedford, of Kildare Street, Middlesbrough, in the floral frontage category.
Councillor Lowes, the council's executive member for liveability and environment, said: "The residents have done themselves proud."
