Heighington are still out in front of Division A following their big win over Aldbrough St John.

Batting first the leaders posted the healthy total of 250 for four when Campbell opened with 106 and his first wicket colleague Riley added 81.

Three of the four wickets were taken by Holt at a cost of 65 runs.

When Aldbrough St John replied they too had a century maker in Lewis. Incredibly he scored 102 of his team's total of 136 all out with Boocock and Waite each taking four wickets in the Heighington attack.

Rockliffe Park are second, four points behind Heighington, after they saw off the challenge from Barton by a three wickets margin. Lockey top scored with 37 when Barton ended on 159 for nine with Garbutt taking three for 52 and Howell three for 60.

Responding Rockliffe Park won after losing seven wickets. Wheeler and Balu both contributed 29 and Cundy added a valuable 28 towards the end of the innings. T Frankland had a good day with the ball for Barton capturing five wickets for 52 runs.

Ingleton slumped to 49 all out against Raby Castle for whom Jones claimed eight wickets for a meagre 17 runs. Raby Castle won losing three wickets when Brennan carried his bat for 20.

Middleton St George overtook the Barningham total of 116 with seven wickets in tact. Their match winner with the bat was Ayub who ended with 57 not out. Bainbridge scored 26 and Rodgers 21 not out.

Batting first Barningham ended with 116 which included 41 by Nixon and 34 not out from Walker, while for the home side McKenna claimed four wickets for 46 runs.

Eryholme batted 39.5 overs scoring 101 in their game at Cockerton for whom Malcolm Lease returned the excellent figures of five for 22 from 12.5 overs, seven of which were maidens and Ian Rawlings took three for 11 in four overs.

Cockerton collected the necessary runs from 21.1 overs as Dave Lee hit three sixes and eight boundaries in an undefeated 67 compiled from only 56 deliveries.

Haughton have a sizeable lead in Division B and their latest success came in the home game with Dales who are fourth from top. Armstrong scored 51 before being run out and 45 not out from Wilkinson enabled Haughton to reach 159 for the loss of four wickets. Dales were then dismissed for 93 with Keen taking five wickets for 28 runs. Lawson opened the Dales reply scoring 40 and towards the end of the innings Hutchinson contributed 25.

Cliffe are second and they had 66 runs in hand of Trimdon CCA who were all out for 49 when Walton claimed six wickets for a mere 25 runs. In the Cliffe innings which realised 115 for four the top run maker was Braithwaite with an undefeated 55.

Lands are just a point behind Cliffe in third place after they won by four runs at Heighington. Batting first Lands totalled 137 all out with Tookey scoring 24 and Little 36 and for Heighington Gibson returned figures of four for 54, Linton three for 34 and Johnson three for 46.

When Heighington went to the wicket they were always in with a chance before the innings closed on 133 of which Church scored 43. Simpson, with four 39 and Reed (3-18) were the most productive of the five-man Lands attack. After reducing Middleton Tyas to 93 for six King James won by five wickets. Wilkinson scored no fewer than 57 of the visitors' run and Brack claimed five of the six wickets to fall for just 40 runs. In reply King James were given a good send off by Davison (28) and Williams (26) who were involved in a good partnership for the second wicket which paved the way for victory even though Wilkinson and Williams both took a couple of wickets for Middleton Tyas.

Brompton-on-Swale slumped to just 37 all out in their home game with Catterick Village who lost five wickets before winning. Swainton had the excellent figures of four for eight and Galey took six for 29 while for Brompton. Wardell picked up three wickets for nine runs and Fellstead two for 13.

Middleton-in-Teesdale made a respectable 158 for four when they hosted East Cowton. Anthony Coatsworth led the way with 64 and brothers Neil Watson (44) and David (31) were also among the runs.

When East Cowton went into bat they were dismissed for 107 which included a top scoring 35 by Andrew Raw while in the Middleton-in-Teesdale attack David Watson took four for 26 in 11.3 overs before being called away to tackle a fire. The fireman returned 45 minutes later but did not again take part in the bowling. His brother Neil claimed two for 36 from eight overs and Anthony Coatsworth three for 36 from 11.1 overs he sent down.

In Division C three did not go ahead. Barningham conceded their match with Haughton, Trimdon Colliery and Deaf Hill also conceded their game with Lands as did Aldbrough St John who were due to visit Trimdon Colliery and Spennithorne and Harmby defeated Raby Castle by seven wickets when Walker took five for 16 restricting Raby Castle to 67. Farrow then carried his bat for 53 and although Jackson took three for 14 he could not stave off defeat for Raby Castle. Despite being faced with the formidable target of 161 Rockliffe Park defeated Barton by six wickets. Edwards ended undefeated on 85 and Marshall contributed 31 with three of the four wickets falling to Thompson for 29 runs.

Batting first Barton were all out for 160 which included 34 by Thompson and 39 from Burn. Swanick was in excellent form with the ball for Rockliffe Park taking five for 39 and Edwards assisted with figures of three for 28.

First semi final: Haughton 68 all out, Barningham 71 for 2 (win).

Second semi final: Barton 113 for 4 (win), Heighington 87 for 6.

Final: Barton 125 for 5, Barningham 18 for 2 - match abandoned, rain. Final to be replayed, date to be announced.
