DOGS of all description will be on show in the Flatts Lane Country Park Dog Show, at Flatts Lane park south of Normanby, will be held on Sunday, from 1pm to 4pm.

Categories include scruffiest dog, dog with the waggiest tale and dog with the shiniest coat. Reduced cost dog identity chips will also be on sale.

COBBLE work:: The re-laying of Guisborough's cobbles and setts has resumed after work stopped for the summer holiday period. The final section on the southern side of Westgate, between Emily's restaurant and the Mackays shop, is expected to be completed by the end of November.

CROSSING UPGRADE: A zebra crossing in Durham Lane, Eaglescliffe, is to be converted to a light-controlled Puffin crossing, said to be more sophisticated than a Pelican. The work, due to start in October, is because of speeding problems on the road.

CAR BOOT: The last of this year's car boot sales held in St Nicholas's Rectory, Guisborough, will take place in the car park of the Parish Hall, in Bow Street on Saturday, starting at 10am. Cost is £6 per boot. Call Allan Martin on (01287) 630712 to book.

SAFE POSITION: A representative from the Elm Tree ward, Stockton, is needed to sit on the Stockton South Road Safety Forum, which meets every three months.

JUMBLE SALE: Cleveland Girls' Brigade will hold a jumble sale at Marske Methodist Church, Hummershill Lane, Marske, on Saturday, at 1.30pm. Admission is 20p.
