HARTLEPOOL United took the Division Three derby honours as they romped to a 4-1 win over Darlington at Victoria Park.

Pool dominated proceedings - and it could have been even more than the four they scored.

Eifion Williams put Pool in front with just two minutes on the clock, cracking home a right foot shot from 18 yards.

But Quakers were given hope on 26 minutes - and it was thanks to Pool old boy Ian Clark. Micky Barron left a back header short and the striker nipped in to get the slightest of touches to put his side level.

Nine minutes on and Williams second goal put Pool in the lead. He beat Craig Liddle on the edge of the area and again shot past Collett.

Ritchie Humphreys killed off any Darlington hopes on the hour when his fierce cross fizzed across the penalty area and found its way into the back of the net.

Quakers were awful and Pool were making the most of the visitors' display. Pool keeper Anthony Williams was untroubled, with opposite number Collett the busiest man on the pitch.

And with the clock ticking by, Humphreys' cross was touched in by Tinkler to send the Town End happy - and the visiting fans in the Rink End despondant.
