THERE'S no arguing with the clock so if Yarmouth's current five-furlong course record holder Roxanne Mill (3.20) runs up to her best, she'll be a hard horse to beat in the £12,000 Showcase Handicap at the East Anglian track today.

Roxanne Mill claimed the record with a blistering pillar-to-post success at the popular seaside holiday resort in August. Admittedly Mark Usher's filly has since twice been beaten, at Sandown and York, but those were both red-hot contests and to be fair she was disgraced in neither.

Now back on more familiar territory, Roxanne Mill is fancied to resume her winning ways at the main expense of the northern raider, Nigel Tinkler's Henry Hall.

The feature race on the card is the £28,000 John Musker Fillies' Stakes, a Listed mile-and-a-quarter event.

The unknown quantity in the race is Godolphin's Cunas, who won an egg-and-spoon maiden at Windsor on her sole outing to date.

Frankie Dettori's mount could easily be capable of massive improvement, however, it's no use guessing in such situations and in direct contrast Rosa Parks has the form in the book. Rosa Parks attracted a lorry load of cash when she last ran at York and trainer Luca Cumani was doubtless disappointed that she could only finish runner-up to Alexandra Three D.

Hindsight is indeed a wonderful thing, and it turns out Rosa Parks actually did well to chase home Alexander Three D, who has since thrashed a quality field in the Group 3 Park Hill Stakes at Doncaster.

A couple of potentially big outsiders catch the eye at Southwell, Boroughset Boy (3.10) and High Jinks (3.40).

Boroughset Boy, who runs in the five furlong betdirect.co.uk Nursery, is a very hard horse to weigh up with any sort of certainty. He's definitely disappointed on his last couple of starts, nevertheless, if you go back to the beginning of the season, the John Weymes-trained two-year-old ran well in races that have subsequently thrown up some very useful winners.

Overall the Official Handicapper has not been too harsh allotting Boroughset Boy a rating of 59, a mark off which he could surprise some much more fancied rivals.

High Jinks should also go off at a big price for the mile-and-six-furlong Ryder Cup Handicap.

He is a slow, nonetheless relentless galloper, whose style of racing may well suit Southwell's testing fibre-sand surface. The seven-year-old stayer has also got a handy low draw, so might well be able to lay up with the leaders and keep out of the kickback on his first try at the all-weather track.

Winner finding at Salisbury looks very tricky, although if Tribal Prince (5.00) is in the same sort of mood as when successful at Redcar recently, then he can collect the closing seven furlong Waterline Handicap.
