A TEENAGER left a heap of clothes behind after fleeing from the scene of an indecent assault, a court was told.

Teesside Crown Court heard yesterday how Christopher Gill left two of everything he had been wearing to boost his puny physique.

Michael O'Neil, prosecuting, said Mr Gill, 19, stripped off when the 20-year-old girl he had met in a Darlington nightclub was asleep in her double bed with a girlfriend. The friend, who had been with them in the Plastered Parrot, woke up as Mr Gill took his clothes off beside the bed and got in.

Mr O'Neill said: "She was pretty terrified and she lay still for a while until she realised that Mr Gill was interfering with her sleeping friend.

"As soon as she realised that she let out a yell and struck out at him in the bed. He jumped up and rushed out of the room wearing not much and went. He went off into the night leaving his clothing behind him. He was wearing four pairs of socks that night because his shoes were too big for him, and he also wore more layers of clothing - possibly because he is a small man who wanted to appear larger than he is.

"Equally curiously, he ran not home but to the police station where he asked them to arrange a lift home for him as he was stuck out in the middle of the night without money or clothing."

The women made a complaint, the link was made and he was arrested while sitting in the police station waiting for a lift home.

Mr Gill said what happened was consensual and that she was touching him at the same time.

Mr Gill, of Staindrop Road, Darlington, denied indecent assault on October 15 last year.

The case continues.
