Members of the Scott School of Highland Dancing in Newton Aycliffe are celebrating after receiving £3,825 from the National Lottery's Awards for All programme.
The grant will allow the group to buy dancing costumes so that every dancer will have the opportunity to perform. The group receives many bookings from local event organisers but until now only a few dancers could perform using old, worn out costumes. Dancers will also be able to participate in competitions and exams. The group is fairly new, so the award will also cover other start-up costs.
