Middlesbrough's good start to the new season continued this afternoon with a hard earned 1-0 victory over premiership newcomers Birmingham city.
French fullback Frank Queudrue grabbed Boro's only goal with a stunning 20 yard free kick after 29 minutes to lift his side to sixth in the top flight.
In a pulsating last quarter of an hour Birmingham ha the chances but failed to equalise at the Riverside.
Steve McClaren's men should have made it two with virtually the last kick of the game, but Queudrue was unable to find the net after a good through ball from team mate Massimo Maccarone.
