A CLEAN-UP plan has been announced by a Teesside chemical complex.
Under the £1m deal signed by Huntsman, effluent will be piped from its polyurethanes site at Wilton, near Redcar, to Northumbrian Water's treatment plant at Bran Sands, Teesport.
Dave Archbold, Northumbrian Water's head of business, said: "Huntsman has secured an advanced environmental solution for liquid wastes and the arrangement reaffirms North-umbrian Water's reputation for innovation, efficiency and the delivery of services tailored to the customer's needs.''
Tony Knapton, Huntsman Polyurethanes' site director, said: "Improving our environmental, health and safety performance is our number one priority here at our polyurethanes manufacturing operations at Wilton and we are delighted that months of careful planning and hard work have resulted in the go-ahead for this excellent project."
