An injury time equaliser from Gateshead-born Michael Nelson denied Darlington their second away win of the season.

Quakers last won on their travels at Cambridge on the opening of the day season and Ian Clark looked to have sealed victory when he put his side 2-0 up from the penalty spot in the 73rd minute after Ryan Valentine had opened his account for the club with a goal after 34 minutes.

But Bury, relegated from Division Two last season, fought back and were given a glimmer of hope when David Nugent pulled a goal back for the home side two minutes from time.

And with the game deep in injury time former Bishop Auckland defender Nelson popped up with his second goal in as many games to deny Tommy Taylor's side a rare away win.
