VENUE CHANGED: The meeting of Sedgefield Borough Council's Area 2 Forum, on Tuesday, October 29 at 6.30pm will now be held at Chilton Workingmen's Club instead of Chilton and Windlestone Community College.

PLANNING MEETING: A meeting of Sedgefield Borough Council's development control committee will be held on Friday, in the council offices, Green Lane, Spennymoor, from 10am.

FAIR DATE: An autumn fair will be held at Pheonix Court, Heron Drive, Darlington, on Saturday, at 1.30pm. The event includes tombola, raffles, cakes, bric-a-brac and other stalls. Admission is free.

CASH RAISED: An auction of produce from the leek show at Toft Hill's Sportsman pub raised £180. All proceeds will go to senior citizens in the village.

MUSIC DATE: Stanhope Methodist Chapel will host a concert by Northern Sinfonia, called Harvest Strings, on Thursday, October 24. Tickets priced £1 to £5, call (0191) 4434555.

PARTNERSHIP MEETING: Sedgefield Development Partnership will hold its first annual meeting on Wednesday, October 30, in Ceddesfeld Hall, at 8.15pm.

SHED RAID: Thieves who broke into a shed at a Darlington house stole £3,500 worth of fishing equipment. The Daiwa equipment included one rod valued at £750. It was taken from a property in the Kingsway area between Saturday night and Sunday morning. Anyone with information is asked to call Darlington police on (01325) 742124.

TREE APPLICATION: Officials at The Friends Meeting House, in Skinnergate, Darlington have applied to remove trees from the Quaker burial ground in the town. Darlington Borough Council will decide whether the group can remove the four trees in the coming weeks.
