The League has three clubs, Coxhoe Athletic, Brandon Station and Sporting Club Sunderland going into the semi-final draw of The Durham County Trophy alongside Teeside Arriva from the South Cleveland League.
Sporting Club Sunderland notched up a superbly penalty shoot out victory over an excellent Cockfield side in the competition. 120 minutes of thrilling football ended all square at 1-1. Cockfield had taken a well deserved lead but Sporting came flying back into the game with renewed vigour. A fantastic 30 yard lob by Geoff Smith caught the Cockfield keeper stranded off his line. The golden goal failed to separate both teams even though chances were often created. Sporting Club however held their nerve in the ensuring penalty shoot out, Barry Cook, Simon Williamson and Lee Butler all converted brilliantly, while Cockfield went on to miss all their spot kicks.
Brandon Station go through to the next round winning 5-2 away to Darlington RA reserves. The RA started the brighter and capitalised on a lethargic Brandon when they went in 2-0 at half time. The second half was a different matter as Brandon knocked in five through John Bell (2), Gavin Bell, Paul Webster and Paul Gill.
Spennymoor Black and Decker were outplayed by Coxhoe Athletic and are out of the competition going down 5-1. Alan Tolley hit four for Coxhoe with Michael Armstrong getting the other. Michael Hodgson got Black & Decker's consolation goal from the spot.
In the South Durham Charity Bowl on a very heavy pitch, Shildon Railway had to work hard for their 4-3 win against Stanhope Town. Goals for Shildon coming from Neil Robinson (2), Ian Maddison and Chris Lye.
Whithill FC go second in the table, six points behind Belford House with two games in hand thanks to a powerful 10 - 0 win against Ebchester FC.
Seaham Mallard put their home advantage to good use on a heavy muddy pitch and thumped Springwell Village 8-2. Barry Cougle netted twice with David Crombie, Jonathan Reynolds, Darren Wakefield, James Taylor, Chris Hills and Michael Evans getting the others. Mark Kirtley netted both for Springwell.
