DESPITE the continuous heavy rain, Consett Motor Club managed to run their Toby Jug trophy trial at Oxenlaw Valley Farm, Castleside on Sunday.
Open to all classes, a massive entry of 142 riders took part, riding three laps of a 3-mile course of 12 sections per lap.
Roger Williams rode his Beta to good effect, finishing without loss of marks.
He was followed home by Steve Suddes and Guy Kendrew, both on Shercos, who also lost no marks.
The big waterfall at the sixth section, followed by a tight turn out up a gulley, took marks off most of the entry.
Young A-class winner Mike Lee (Scorpa) had a brilliant ride, dropping just three marks to take sixth place overall behind the leading trio, Eddie Aitken (Gas Gas) and Colin Ward (Sherco), who both parted with just one mark each.
