DEDICATED fundraisers have helped bring some festive cheer to a hospital
The Northallerton and District Diabetic Club, together with the Friends of the Friarage Hospital, raised £35,000 to buy two new cameras for the diabetes clinic.
The Diabetic Club had originally thought that it would take up to two years to raise the money when they launched the appeal in March.
The cameras will benefit patients with diabetes and will be used to photograph patients' retinas to determine the progress of the disease and hopefully prevent further damage and the risk of blindness.
One camera will be based in the clinic at the Friarage Hospital, and the other will be used in Northallerton's dedicated mobile diabetes clinic, which tours the area.
