PLANS have been unveiled for more then £600,000 worth of improvements to roads in Tyne Dock, South Shields.
The Port of Tyne proposals include a new mile-long stretch of road to improve access.
The plans follow the increase in the volume of cargo handled by the port. About 3,500 vehicles used the Tyne Dock roads daily during 2001.
