FOCUS groups across Wear Valley have helped the district council to ensure its housing services are effective.

People using the repairs and maintenance departments were invited to focus group meetings in Bishop Auckland, Crook and Stanhope to share their views on the service provided.

The Housing Services Department at Wear Valley District Council organised the sessions as part of a review of its housing repairs and maintenance service

The well-attended groups provided some positive constructive feedback which the housing services team will work on in an attempt to make significant improvements. Feedback will be provided to all those who attended and will be published in the next issue of Matters, the community newspaper for all Wear Valley residents.

Alan Northcote, head of property services at Wear Valley District Council, said: "I would like to thank our customers for attending, the outcome from the three days was very positive and will help us to improve our services."
