YOUNGSTERS in York have enjoyed a white Christmas with a difference.
Bubble bath was emptied into the refurbished fountain in Parliament Street, and within minutes it was overflowing with foam.
The fountain has traditionally provided the base for a huge Christmas tree, but because of recent refurbishment work to repair damage caused by vandals and skateboarders, it was left bare this year.
However, revellers were determined to add some of their festive cheer to the fountain.
The bottles of bubble bath emptied into it produced so much foam that the bubbles spread as far as Market Street.
