DAVID Harker, chief executive of Citizens' Advice, has been awarded an OBE for his services to the voluntary sector.
Born in Darlington, he has lived in Lewisham, south London, since 1973 and began his career in the voluntary sector with Voluntary Action Lewisham..
He has been chief executive of Citizens Advice since 1997 and said: "I regard this award as recognition of the vital role played by all 25,000 staff and volunteers in the Citizens Advice service."
