FORMER Brookside crimper Sam Kane took time out from pantomime yesterday to help a fellow hairdresser.
The actor, who played hair stylist Peter in the Channel 4 soap, opened the Flip hair salon in North Road, Darlington.
Owner Lisa Winfield, 29, said she was delighted that Mr Kane, who is appearing in Snow White and the Seven Dwarves at Darlington Civic Theatre until January 19, had agreed to open the salon.
"I'd cut his hair in the past when I worked at another hair salon in Darlington so I just wrote to him and asked. He's a really lovely guy and was happy to do it."
Miss Winfield set up Flip with a grant from the Falchion Fund.
