A woman is recovering after being robbed at knifepoint.
The 37-year-old victim was returning to her car after visiting the post office in Stanhope Street, Newcastle, when a youth approached.
He threatened her with a knife, took a quantity of money and escaped.
The woman was described as shocked but unhurt.
The robber is described as white, aged 16 or 17, about 5ft 11in tall and was wearing a green jacket and a black, woollen hat.
Anyone with information is urged to get in touch with police.
