A NEW business forum in Darlington is helping local entrepreneurs increase their profits.

The Business Builder Forum aims to help with the development and growth of the town's businesses and provide immediate benefits by giving members access to a marketing budget worth £10,000.

Hundreds of groups have been established throughout the UK by members of a countrywide organisation, called Added Value Network, an association of business advisors and accountants.

Hosted by business advisors and accountants Sanders Swinbank, the first event took place at the New Grange Hotel, in Darlington, and was attended by more than 40 local business owners and managers.

The launch event was attended by clients and invited guests of Sanders Swinbank, but future forums, which include workshops and discussions, will be open to any local business looking to find a competitive edge.

Stuart Swinbank, director at Sanders Swinbank, said: "The aim of the business forum is to encourage local businesses to find new ways of growing their businesses and proactively addressing pressing issues.

"We bring together people and advisors with a wealth of experience and the response we have had from the launch evening has been fantastic."

The second business forum will be held this month and will be open to any local business on a first come, first served basis, and is free.

Businesses attending the forum will also benefit from access to a £10,000 boost to their marketing budget.
