THE following cases came before Darlington magistrates yesterday.

NO INSURANCE: Nicholas Hampton, 36, of Stanhope Road North, Darlington, was fined £300 with £35 costs after he admitted driving with no insurance. The court heard he was stopped in his VW Golf on the A167 at Burtree Lane on November 6.

DRIVER FINED: David McCallum, 56, of Dunelm Walk, Darlington, admitted driving through a red traffic light at the junction of Albert Road and North Road on August 23. He was fined £60 with £35 costs.

FINED £35: Matthew David Cavill, 27, of Parkland Drive, Darlington, was fined £35 with £35 costs after he admitted failing to produce his driving licence after being stopped by police on September 14 while driving a Nissan Bluebird.

CASE ADJOURNED: The case against Gary Ian Lovegreen, 28, of no fixed address, was adjourned until February 12, for a pre-trial review at Newton Aycliffe Magistrates' Court. He denied speeding in Greenfield Way, Newton Aycliffe, last February.

MOTORING CHARGES: Lana Grabinskis-Robson, 39, of South Road, High Etherley, Bishop Auckland, was fined £80 after she admitted driving without insurance and having defective lights on her Fiat Panda car when it was stopped on the A689 at Howden-le-Wear, on April 28.

SPEEDING FINE: Stuart Colvin, 24, of Carlton Rise, Newton Aycliffe, was fined £80 with £35 costs after he admitted speeding on a motorbike in Eden Terrace, Kirk Merrington, last July 22.

DRIVING OFFENCE: James Lewis Fishwick, 19, of The Mead, Darlington, was banned from driving for 28 days and fined £100 after he admitted driving without insurance in Barmpton Lane, on October 19. He was also ordered to pay £35 costs.

CHARGE DENIED: The case against Simon Peter Lavery, 20, of Brough Avenue, Colburn, North Yorkshire, was adjourned until February 11, after he denied driving without insurance in Fitzwilliam Way, Darlington, last March 21.

OFFENCES ADMITTED: Derek Wallace, 41, of Gudmunsen Avenue, Woodhouse Close Estate, Bishop Auckland, admitted driving without a licence, insurance or test certificate in North Bondgate, Bishop Auckland, on August 24. He was fined £100 with £35 costs.
