A DRIVE-TO-WORK car sharing initiative is to be launched in a bid to reduce pollution and traffic congestion.
In the Tees Valley Strategy Unit scheme, drivers will be able to register details on a website, of journeys they are planning. They will be given details of other people going in the same direction.
The scheme, a joint initiative between the UK's largest car-sharing network, liftshare.com, and the area's five local authorities, is officially launched on Friday.
Drivers can log on to www.2plustravel.com or any of the Tees Valley authorities websites, or call 08700 111199.
