MAN-OF-THE-MOMENT Anthony Williams is relishing the pressure of being at the summit of Division Three.

The Hartlepool United keeper has helped earn his side four points on the road in the last week, making a crucial late save in the win at Macclesfield before producing a man-of-the-match display to secure a point at Cambridge.

And the former Wales under-21 international, who hasn't conceded a goal away from home in three games as Pool have gone six games unbeaten since December 28, admits: "It's great because I know there's been games when I haven't had a lot to do this season. We are top of the League and doing very well.

"But when we do concede goals they are highlighted.

"If we were at the bottom of the league and losing every week then would be busy, making saves all over the place every game.

"But it's a different story for us, we are top of the league and when I do let a goal in it is blown up that little bit more.''

And he added: "We've got a good spirit and everyone is full of confidence. Everyone in the team is pulling their weight.

"The back four, five if you include me, have played together a long time and the understanding is there.

"We've picked up four points in two away games and no-one can argue with that.

"We are a hard team to break down.

"We've got Torquay now and then Exeter and Swansea at home and on paper you look at the fixtures and think 'that's OK' but it doesn't always work like that.

"Sometimes it's against the bottom teams when you come unstuck.

"We have just got to make sure keep things going.

Boss Mike Newell admitted: "It's only what, two goals in six games which is fantastic.

"West was outstanding last Saturday, Spike was better second half and Micky Barron made a few crucial tackles, he reads the game so well.

"I couldn't fault them to a man to be honest.''

Gordon Watson will play for Pool reserves at Darlington tonight (7pm) as he steps up his return from a broken leg.
