DETECTIVES have named a North-East man who collapsed and died in suspicious circumstances outside a pool hall in Manchester.

Michael Dean, 33, was found by door staff outside Suzi Q's, on Kirkmanshulme Lane, in the Belle Vue area of the city, at about 10pm on Friday.

Mr Dean was taken to Manchester Royal Infirmary but died at midnight. Police could not confirm whether he had sustained any injuries.

A 47-year-old man was arrested at the scene but was released on police bail pending further inquiries. Police would not confirm reports that the arrested man hailed from the Loftus area of east Cleveland.

Mr Dean lived on Coronation Street, in Carlin How, east Cleveland, with his girlfriend, Debbie Barwick, and their children, Eleanor and Sarah.

He was described by neighbours as a hard-working family man who worked away a lot.
