A FREE touring art exhibition based on the life of Anne Frank begins a two-week run at the University of Teesside today.
Based on the diary of the girl who hid with her Jewish family in fear of the Nazis during the Second World War, the show was created by the Anne Frank House, in Amsterdam.
Her life history is spotlighted in the exhibition, which runs alongside two shows.
And In Britain Today focuses on young people's experiences of racism and intolerance in the UK by displaying the story of black teenager Stephen Lawrence, who was murdered during a racist attack.
Students Of The Third Reich has been written for the tour and explores a range of issues in Nazi Germany, including student resistance to the regime and the role of student collaborators.
Students Union communications officer Simon Judd said: "Across the world, there are terrible armed conflicts taking place, with people in many nations facing prejudice, misery and oppression.
"In this country, there is real discrimination for so many and mindless acts of violence against minorities.
"For all these reasons, the Anne Frank exhibition is a story as relevant today as it has ever been and it is one that we ignore at our peril."
The exhibition and shows are in the university's main hall, which is open from 9am to 6pm on weekdays until February 14.
