£430,000 has been set aside to develop the Cleveland Way over the next four years as part of a massive new walking route.
The Nortrail project includes 30 miles of the North Yorkshire Heritage Coast and aims to create improvements and tourism benefits from Saltburn to Scalby, said Richard Gunton, of the North York Moors national park.
"This is an exciting venture which will hopefully improve tourism and recreational opportunities along the coast of the national park and beyond."
He added that the Nortrail project was being set up to promote a long distance route around countries bordering the North Sea.
