PUPILS savoured a taste of the Orient as part of Chinese New Year celebrations yesterday.
Raventhorpe Preparatory School, in Darlington, dedicated the whole day to the theme, with 12 nursery pupils enjoying the extra education topic.
Teachers decided to expand on the children's food topic to incorporate the Chinese New Year into their work.
The day began with the children dressing up in authentic Chinese costumes, donated by a parent who recently took a trip to the Far East.
Activities then moved on to making traditional Chinese stir fry dishes and looking at artefacts.
