YOUNG people can dance the night away on Saturday, and raise money for charity.
The Millennium Volunteers, a Government-funded group which encourages 16 to 26-year-olds to help their communities, is holding a 'danceathon' at the Sundial Hotel in Northallerton.
There will be classes in ballroom dancing, line dancing, salsa, jive and street dance from 2pm until 7pm and then a disco from 7.30pm.
Mary Dodman, the local co-ordinator for Millennium Volunteers, said: "Anyone who raises £10 or more in sponsorship gets the lessons free and free entry to the disco. Otherwise they pay £2 for the danceathon and £2 for the disco.
"We've managed to find qualified teachers for the danceathon lessons and we are expecting young people from all parts of the Hambleton district - Thirsk, Stokesley, Easingwold and Bedale, as well as Northallerton."
The money raised will be shared between the Great Northern Air Ambulance and an inner-city school in Kingston, Jamaica.
