YOUNGSTERS will change their uniform to help change lives as part of a national campaign.
Schools throughout the North-East will participate in Unicef's Day for Change, on Friday.
Now in its 15th year, the event will involve children paying a small fee for the privilege of wearing their own clothes, with the proceeds going to the charity's post-conflict and peace projects in Cambodia and Tanzania.
A Unicef spokesman said: "Schools in the North-East will be taking part, whether they wear uniform or not.
"Staff and pupils may prefer a fancy dress theme or clothes representing all the countries of the world."
As well as raising money on Friday, pupils will learn about the lives of the children they are helping.
