PRIMARY school pupils will soon be eating the favourite food of some of the country's celebrities.
Youngsters at Hartburn Primary School, Stockton, have written a recipe book as part of a healthy eating week.
After creating recipes and receiving some from parents and grandparents, they decided to write to famous people to ask for their favourite meal.
Those they wrote to included Tony Blair, the Arsenal football team, Sir Alex Ferguson, Delia Smith and Gary Lineker.
All the replies have now been published.
Teacher Sandra Stabler said: "The kids were over the moon with their replies. Not only were they given the recipes, but autographs and pictures.
"The youngster who wrote to Sir Alex Ferguson was especially overjoyed as he is a big Manchester United fan, and as well as the recipe, he received a signed photograph of the whole team."
The books sold within two days and the money will be used to redevelop the school playground.
Families in Stockton may now find themselves enjoying grilled sea bass with fettucine and ratatouille sauce, which is the favourite meal of Alex Ferguson, or Tony Blair's favourite of meatballs.
