A controversial plan to build seven homes in a village near Ripon is being taken to appeal by the applicants.
They are appealing to an independent government inspector that the scheme, on land next to Lindley House, Hungate, Bishop Monkton, was not determined within eight weeks of being tabled to Harrogate Borough Council.
The plan, which sparked objections from the parish council and residents, went before planning committee members with a recommendation for refusal. Councillors said they were minded to follow the recommendation.
A council planning official said the appeal would now be determined by written representations.
