This year's well attended meeting took place in the clubhouse when members considered matters relating to club affairs.

The Treasurer, John Webster, presented the accounts and was closely questioned on the year and development programme envisaged for the club.

This was approved and accepted together with the accounts and the budget. The retiring Captain, Alan Court reviewed his year and highlighted the success of the B team led by the Vice Captain David Blades in winning the Bainbridge Shield, and the achievement of Kevin Ward In becoming a scratch golfer.

The retiring lady Captain, Margaret McMahon in reviewing her year spoke of the success of the Ladies in raising over £1400 for charity. Committee reports praise was universally given to the course manager Inn Pemberton, and his team, for the development and excellent condition of the course. David Brown, the Competition Secretary, referred to the Junior Academy which Had been run during the year with Bedale High School and Harrogate Union funding. Up to 20 juniors had received lessons on Saturday afternoons, with the Professional Tony Johnson. in attendance. It was hoped that this would continue In the future.

A request was made for help with the club's juniors as the present organisers were standing down and Dennis Black and his wife Ena had agreed to assist but also required help.

The election of officers then took place with the Chairman, David Me standing down in favour of Ian Smith.

Fulsome praise was given to David for his service to the club which over 50 years had included most of the club offices together with the Honour of a Harrogate Union Vice President. Competition Secretary David Brown. Committee members. Craig Harrison. Kevin Clinton, Peter Taylor and Alan Court. Members were advised that the Captains 'Drive in' would take place on Sunday.
