VETERAN rockers Status Quo are going green. The band have confirmed they will be rockin' all over the forest later this year.

They have announced a series of concerts at forest venues in June - including one in Dalby Forest, near Pickering, North Yorkshire.

Quo, who had a string of hits spanning from the 1960s to the 1990s, will be joining Jools Holland in a weekend of music, on June 21 and 22, in the 8,600-acre woodland.

Organised by the Forestry Commission, the tour includes four other rustic venues and will be a new experience for the band and their fans alike.

"Status Quo have played all sorts of venues all over the world, but playing in the middle of a wonderful forest will be a unique experience - both for us and the fans," said the band's Francis Rossi.

Fellow rocker Rick Parfitt said: "We loved the last UK tour and can't wait for the Dalby show, it will be very special."

Peter Green, of the Forestry Commission's North York Moors district, said: "Last year's concerts with Jools Holland and Pulp were truly spectacular, attracting nearly 7,000 fans to Dalby over two evenings.

"Jools is back by popular demand for another boogie, while the legendary status of Quo and their epic stage show will ensure a fantastic spectacle."

Tickets have already gone on sale. They are priced at £26 for Status Quo, £24 for Jools Holland.

They can be booked free through the Forestry Commission Credit Card Hotline on 0115 912 130 (24-hour), or online (subject to booking fee) at www.wayahead.com.
