CHILDREN'S charity staff are celebrating after receiving a £500 donation.
Capital Shopping Centres, which owns the MetroCentre, donated the sum to Childline in the North-East and Yorkshire.
The branch is one of seven operated by Childline in the UK, providing help and advice for youngsters in trouble or danger.
Daniela Slanikova, Childline fundraiser for the North-East, visited the MetroCentre to receive the donation from public relations and promotions manager Jane Holmes.
She said: "Donations such as this from MetroCentre are very important to the continued support for the charity.
Ms Holmes said: "We were delighted to be able to contribute to this crucial service, especially as Childline in the region celebrates its fifth anniversary this year."
