A SCHOOL has received a glowing report following an Ofsted inspection.
Browney Primary School, in Meadowfield, was visited by inspectors last year.
Their report, published recently, describes it as a "good school with some particular strengths".
It finds that staff form a "strong team" and are "highly committed" to the education of pupils, and singles out the leadership of the head- teacher, Sarah Taylor, as particularly outstanding.
The inspectors recognised the school's achievements in gaining an Artsmark Silver Award and a Basic Skills Quality Mark.
They praised staff for heeding the recommendations made in the last inspection, in 1997, and found that teaching in Key Stage Two, handwriting, spelling, attendance, and the school environment have improved.
The report said parents and governors were happy with the school, and described its displays as stunning.
It suggested that improvements could be made in pupils' understanding of what they read and their achievements in science
