A MAN who suffered severe head injuries following an accident last week has been identified following a police appeal.
The 32-year-old was involved in a collision on Borough Road, Middlesbrough, shortly before 8pm on Tuesday, February 11.
He was running across the road to a waiting taxi when he was struck by a car.
The man, who lives in the town's Grove Hill, is known as Kevin John Smart.
He is still in a critical condition in Middlesbrough General Hospital and, although he made a slight improvement, his condition is now deteriorating.
Relatives have come forward from the Newcastle and West Yorkshire areas to identify Mr Smart but police are still appealing for information on the accident.
