AMPHETAMINES worth £500 were recovered when police raided a house in South Terrace, South Bank, on Tuesday. A 27-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of supplying controlled drugs.

The raid followed a meeting in the Langbaurgh area at which residents raised their concerns about drug dealing.

Inspector Jason Dixon, who was at the meeting, said: "Residents raised concerns about several issues in the area and in particular about drug dealing at several addresses.

"As a result this house was raided. This shows our commitment to listening to the public and we will react swiftly to any concerns they have."
