A PRIMARY school is aiming to offer full-time care support to all children up to 11.
The plan for West Cornforth Primary School will be introduced in three stages and is the idea of new headteacher Janet Sarsfield.
A breakfast club started at the school on Monday.
Mrs Sarsfield said: "It's for those parents who go out to work and need their children looked after for an hour before school starts. We'll look after them and give them breakfast in a nice safe environment."
Stage two of the project will be an after-school club.
Mrs Sarsfield said: "We'll have lots of activities, games, access to computers and a homework club."
Finally the school will register with Ofsted as a care provider from September.
The school facilities will then be available from 8am until 6pm, for all children, not just pupils, from birth up to the age of 11.
The school will have to find its own grants and funds to run the scheme. Call (01740) 654315
