SLIMMER Alison Morley shed five stone in weight thanks to inspiring words from her soccer heroes.

The 32-year-old had tried every diet in the book and even slogging it out at the gym failed to do the trick.

But when Sir Bobby Robson and his Newcastle team walked into her life, she was soon peeling off the pounds.

Mother-of-three Alison tipped the scales at 14st 7lbs when she first went to the Blue Flames Gym, in Benton, Newcastle.

She was horrified when she discovered that Sir Bobby and her beloved Newcastle team trained there.

Soon she began to rely on words of encouragement from players, including Kieron Dyer, Alan Shearer, Shay Given, Carl Cort, and especially manager Sir Bobby in her battle against the bulge.

She eventually trimmed down to 9st 7lbs by putting in ten hours a week at the gym.

As far as she is concerned, her size 12 shape is all down to them.

Ms Morley, from Whitley Bay, said: "It is all down to Sir Bobby and his team. Alan would give me tips on what exercises to do to help tone me and so would Kieron Dyer.

"But it was Bobby who was my real hero. He would come to me and tell me I was doing great and tell me how good I looked.

"His words of encouragement made me want to train hard and lose the weight.

He gave me so much inspiration like he does to his team.

"Bobby used to say 'Go on you can do it' and I would push myself more."

She is determined to maintain her figure by training five times a week at the gym.
