A MAN hanged himself with a washing line attached to a garden shed following an argument with his girlfriend, an inquest was told yesterday.

The Durham inquest heard that Michael William Dodds, 30, frequently argued with his girlfriend, Sharon Bresner, and sometimes threatened to kill himself, but she never took him seriously.

Following an argument last October 20, Ms Bresner threw him out of the home they shared at Queensbury Road, Seaham, east Durham. When she looked out of the window ten or 15 minutes later, he had hanged himself.

North Durham Coroner Andrew Tweddle recorded a verdict of suicide.
