ONE of the fastest-growing attractions in North Yorkshire has claimed a new honour.
Helmsley Walled Garden has been singled out by the BBC Gardeners' World Magazine and highlighted as its website of the month.
The site - at www.helmsleywalledgarden.co.uk - has now been running for four years and is regarded as one of the reasons for the attraction's rapid growth in popularity.
It is maintained by one of the garden's volunteers, Dominic Fox, who continued the job even after his work took him down to London.
"The website has had huge benefits for us here," said head gardener Paul Radcliffe yesterday. "It attracts a lot of hits and has been directly responsible for bringing three television shows here, which in turn have helped enormously in spreading our name."
