PET food firm Wagg is expanding its facilities in North Yorkshire, thanks to support from the Bank of Scotland.

The bank enabled Wagg Foods to design and construct a £2.1m manufacturing facility, close to its base in Thirsk, which employs 30 people.

The new plant has increased Wagg's capacity by about 30 per cent and has led to five new jobs at the plant.

Tom Page, director of Wagg Foods, said: "The new plant is a major advance in our plan to become the best value branded dog food manufacturer in the UK."

Keith Low, director of New Business at Bank of Scotland Business Banking said: "Wagg Foods is a dynamic business, the new factory has meant that Wagg has increased its workforce by 15 per cent, making it a significant employer in the local area, and we are very pleased to support its ongoing development."
