MOTORISTS will face more rush-hour misery on one of the region's busiest roads next week.
The A167 Durham Road will be subject to lane closures at the Shipcote Lane junction, in Gateshead, from Monday.
One third of the road will be closed to maintain at least one traffic lane in each direction.
Southbound traffic will be the first to be affected, before the work - to install a gas main - switches sides. It is expected to last four weeks.
It follows weeks of road works further north on the road, on the Tyne Bridge, which only came to an end last week.
