A creditable derby game was won by Seaham The Duke 4-2 against Seaham Mallard.

Michael Watson had The Duke ahead after ten minutes with a simple tap in. Scott Burns made it 2-0 after 30 minutes with a cracking shot from outside the penalty area. The Mallard were back in the game when Barry Cougle pulled a goal back in 43 minutes. In the second half The Mallard pressed hard for an equaliser and were rewarded after 80 minutes. Johnathan Reynoldson scored from a 25 yard free kick. Five minutes later The Duke were back on track for victory when Scott Burns got his second goal. In the last move of the game Michael Watson made it 4-2 to the Duke with a fine individual effort - beating the Mallards keeper after a 30 yard dash.

Spennymoor Black & Decker beat Durham Victoria Bridge 3-0, all the goals scored and the game being won in the first half. David Upton got the first with a back post header in the 35th minute. Five minutes later Paul Harnett rounded the keeper to make it 2-0 before Lee Thistlewaite sealed it with his goal.

A hat trick from Michael Pitt helped Whitehill FC get back to the top of the league table in a 5-4 victory against Birtley Town Reserves.

In a hard fought game on a difficult surface Belford House came away from the potential league champions - Coxhoe Athletic - with a point in a 1-1 draw. Michael Conner broke the deadlock for Belford but Coxhoe were rewarded for their efforts and all their pressure with a goal in the 85th minute. from Dean Smithson.

Michael Owens hat trick earned Simonside SC the points with a 3-2 win against bottom club Ebchester FC.

Sporting Club Sunderland came out 3-2 winners against a strong Shildon Railway team. They were ahead when Barry Cook headed home. John Hunt and John Cairns scored for the winners while Stewart Blackett and Phil Appleby replied.
